Hypocrites-About Gay Marriage by ~ThAGhOsT:iconThAGhOsT:

What if a man was told he couldn’t marry his wife
Just because his race was black and hers was white
Is it any different with the gay marriage debate
I just wish to live forever with my true mate

Is it so wrong that I do this for love
We cant be united under the lord above?
I’m going to hell because of how I was born?
I cant go to heaven? that’s something I wont mourn

If my true love and I are meant to burn, then we shall
That’s just simple proof that god can fail
I’m a caring, loving person, I have a good heart
If I have to burn, then heaven’s off to a great start

Surround in brimstone, but at least I’m with my man
Us holding each other, hands clasping hands
I whisper I love you, he whispers to me in turn
Maybe one day, the hypocrites will learn

This poem's going in a song I'm working on, thats why its structured the way it is, more in a lyrical style then a true measured poetic style.

I'm bisexual, some of you may know that, some may not. I've faced prejudices because of this fact irl and online. Its something I deal with every waking moment. I've lost family & friends over this, but what can I do? I cant change who I am. Does any straight person with half a brain believe that I would chose being hated, abused, and attacked so I could have sex with a man? That I would have my life threatened, would be subjected to being stabbed, shot or even killed over such a thing? You must be kidding. This for me, was no choice, for some bisexual's/gays/lesbians, out there it may have been a choice, but for me, I knew I was different from a young age. I'll stop talking now and let my poem speak for its self.

This poem was written to give straight men and women a look into what its like to be me, and so many ppl out there like me. You may dislike its subject, you may hate me for who I am, but I shall never change. To hate is simply to be ignorant. I'd appreciate comments on this, If you wish to bash me or my poem, Leave your comments out of my thread.

Good poem. It's really well written, save for a few grammatical errors. But grammar is overrated...even if people get picky.
Good job writing it nonetheless!

That's so pretty!

I've had the same thoughts about the black man and white woman. I don't think it's fair, these predigests, because once apon a time a black man and white woman actually couldn't get married, no mattered how much love they shared. But you probably already know that, huh?

What if God was just a fiction writer?

My first amendment says I can say that. *nods* Mmmhmmmm.

It so pretty.
I've thought about the black man and white woman thing a lot, cause it happened, and it's now excepted, so it's only a matter of time till our kind is treated justly, too. ^^

Awesome poem! It's about the time the hypocrites learned! (Claps)

And that black and white marriage thing did happened. I should know, I once wrote a report on it. It was very one-sided. If a white man raped a black woman nobody did anything. But it a black man had sex with a white woman he was practically murdered.
But people see the error of their hypocritical ways about that.
Now, with gay people, it's more two-sided, but that doesn't mean they still won't eventually see the error of the ways once again. We just gotta keep fighting and hoping.

I like that. My brother is gay and I don't see a problem with any of those "issues".
